Austin Lyons Biography

 Dyersburg, TN native Austin Lyons is a professional local competitor in the world's fastest growing sport, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and is the current Bang Fighting Light Weight Champion, the current High-Octane Fighting Light Weight Champion, and the current Southeast Missouri Regional Light Weight Champion. As a Competitor Austin has quickly established himself as one of the most feared and respected 155 lb. fighters in the Mid South area.

Austin's success can be attributed to many factors such as good training, technical skills in all areas, good cardio and strength and the unwavering support or friends, family, and community. All of these factors are very important for Austin in the sport of MMA but, Austin's two biggest strengths are his heart and is unbelievable work ethic.

In addition to being a competitor in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, Austin is also a full time student studying Nutrition at the University of Memphis. Being a college student while training can be very demanding for anyone, though Austin also holds down a full time job at Memphis Judo and Jiu-Jitsu as the head Fitness Kickboxing Instructor and the Assistant MMA Instructor.

Austin's immediate future goals are to further his skills and hone his talents in training while continuing his dominance in Mid-South MMA competition. Austin is turning Professional on May 9th, 2009. Once Austin establishes himself as a successful Professional Mixed Martial Artist he would like to own his own gym for not just fight training but also physical health and recreation for children, teenagers, and young adults.
